Kim Kucera has spent over a decade working closely with elected officials, developers and the business community at large to broker compromises and create consensus on high-profile and often contentious projects. Kim served eight years as senior council aide to Denver Councilwoman Judy Montero and Councilwoman Ortega. During her time with city council, Kim encouraged compromise between neighborhood and business interests to build political support for a vast array of issues including small-to large-scale redevelopment proposals, neighborhood planning processes, historic designations and environmental impact statements for highway and transportation corridors. Since joining CRL in 2007, Kim has worked with a broad base of clients throughout the Denver metropolitan area as well as across the state. She provided outreach relative to a proposed annexation on the Western Slope, provided counsel regarding a prominent north metro Denver infill development project, and assists clients such as the Regional Transportation District, Comcast and Waste Management with outreach to local elected officials across the metropolitan area. Within the City and County of Denver Kim works on behalf of multiple clients to represent their business interests with Mayor Hancock, Cabinet members, City Council and City staff. Recently Kim assisted the City and the Downtown Denver Partnership in gaining property-owner consensus for $4 million in private funding for the 14th Street streetscape project in downtown Denver; successfully lobbied on behalf of several clients to defeat proposed landmark designations without property-owner consent; worked closely with Mayoral appointees and the Community Planning and Development agency to make appropriate changes to the new Denver Zoning Code; and assisted several clients relative to business opportunities at Denver International Airport.
