Jim Levitt is director of the Program on Conservation Innovation at the Harvard Forest, Harvard University. His current work focuses on present-day and historic innovation in the field land and biodiversity conservation that is characterized by novelty, strategic significance, measurable effectiveness, transferability and an ability to endure. Prior to coming to Harvard, Levitt worked for nearly two decades in the private sector as a management consultant and project developer. He has a B.A., cum laude, in Anthropology from Yale College and a Master's in Public and Private Management from the Yale School of Management. Jim Levitt, his wife Jane, and their three children live in Belmont, Massachusetts.
