Bruce Jacobs

Mr. Jacobs focuses on counseling companies developing new technologies that are regulated the by Federal Communications Commission (FCC). Mr. Jacobs is regulatory counsel to Mobile Satellite Ventures, which launched the first domestic mobile satellite services system and is a leading proponent of reusing satellite spectrum to operate terrestrial facilities to enhance satellite coverage. He is regulatory counsel to XM Satellite Radio Corporation, a pioneer in and the largest provider of satellite radio service, since its founding. Other satellite clients include Pegasus Development Corporation and Spectrum Astro, on whose behalf he has helped obtain licenses in the Ka FSS and BSS bands and the V band. Mr. Jacobs is founding counsel to the Voice on the Net (VON) Coalition, a trade association of companies active in the development of Internet voice applications and services. Mr. Jacobs also represents companies in the areas of cable television, wireless cable, and radio and television broadcasting. Mr. Jacobs is listed by Chambers USA and Legal 500 as a leading attorney in his field.
