Steve Edwards

Steven D. Edwards is the President and CEO of CoxHealth. CoxHealth is a private not-for-profit healthcare system serving the greater part of southwest Missouri. CoxHealth has been recognized as a Top 100 Integrated healthcare system 7 years in a row. With over 162,543 days of care, Cox consistently ranks as the second or third largest hospital in the state (based upon days of care.) Edwards, since beginning his career at CoxHealth over 20 years ago, has served in a number of roles including; Executive Vice President/COO, Vice President of Clinical Services, Senior Vice President for Regional Services, and Senior Vice President for Hospital Services. In addition, he served as a grounds crew attendant and emergency department orderly during high school and college. Prior to returning to CoxHealth in 1992, Mr. Edwards worked at Baylor University Medical Center, and Barnes-Jewish Hospital. He is currently a Board of Directors member for: the Springfield Greene County Health Commission, The Forest Institute, Community Blood Center of the Ozarks, Cox College, the Voluntary Hospitals of America, Missouri Hospital Association and the Springfield Innovation Center. Edwards received his undergraduate degree from Drury University, a Masters in Healthcare Administration from Washington University School of Medicine, and completed a post graduate fellowship at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas, Texas.
