Mr. Conway has extensive public and private sector experience including more than 12 years in the venture capital industry. From 1979 to 1991, he served in positions of increasing responsibility in the Iowa Department of Economic Development, culminating in his service as Administrator of the Department’s Finance Division. Following his tenure there, Mr. Conway became actively involved in venture capital. As vice president of the merchant banking subsidiary of a large Des Moines-based insurance company, he was responsible for a significant venture investment portfolio. In 1993, he became president of a venture capital and financial advisory firm. He has served on more than a dozen portfolio company boards of directors. Mr. Conway earned his undergraduate and graduate degrees from the University of South Dakota. For the past five years, he has been a guest lecturer on “Entrepreneurship and New Business Creation” at Iowa State University’s MBA program.
