Harrington Drake

Mr. Drake, 96, was the former chairman and chief executive of the Dun & Bradstreet Corporation and led the firm 1975 to 1985. Mr. Drake was also president of Ruben H. Donnelley Corporation from 1972 to 1975. He served on the boards of Dun & Bradstreet Corporation, Baxter International Corporation, Rockwell International Corporation, Irving Trust Bank Corporation, Magnavox Corporation, Seaman's Bank for Savings, and the Desert Caballeros Western Museum. Mr. Drake graduated from Colgate University in 1941 with a Bachelor's Degree in Philosophy and Religion. He also received an honorary Doctor of Laws Degree from Colgate in 1985. He was Chairman Emeritus of Colgate University's Board of Trustees, having served as chairman of the board from 1979-1985. Mr. Drake was married to Shirley Grant, daughter of William T. Grant, from 1943 until her death in 1993. He married Patricia Van Eybergen of Mexico City, Mexico in 1995 and is not only survived by her but also by his sons Ted, Jeffrey (Barbara Smith) and Andy, as well as by three grandchildren, two great- grandchildren, his brother Donald Powell, along with many nieces and nephews and the children and grand- children of his stepfamily.
