Andrew John "Pete" Frankel passed quietly Monday, June 13th in his Sarasota, FL home. Mr. Frankel attended Trinity-Pawling School, Oberlin College, Julliard, and Columbia University. He was also an officer in the U.S. Navy. His fifty-plus-year business career involved acquisition, development and disposition of various manufacturing, service, and entertainment businesses. Between 1966 and 1971, Mr. Frankel served as Executive Vice President and Director of Warner Communications, now Time Warner, Inc. Mr. Frankel resigned to become Chairman and CEO of National Kinney Corp. whose businesses involved parking, real estate, building maintenance and construction subcontracting. In 1983 the company changed its name to Andal Corp. and added Steve's Homemade Ice Cream and Multi-Arc Scientific Coatings to its company holdings. In l998 Mr. Frankel took the company private, and it became Frankhill Associates. In addition, Mr. Frankel was also involved in many personal ventures, including the Palladium nightclub in Manhattan. Long-time resident of Greenwich and Longboat Key, Mr. Frankel is survived by his wife Anita, sister Linda, three children and three grandchildren.
