Edward P. Faberman, a Partner of the Chicago/Washington, DC law firm of Ungaretti & Harris and the Executive Director of the Air Carrier Association of America, has joined the firm as a Partner in its Aerospace & Aviation and Government Affairs Practice Groups. An industry veteran, Faberman brings to WRF a wealth of experience in both the public and private sectors. Throughout his 35-year career, Faberman has focused on expanding competition, service growth at small airports, industry opportunities and the ability of the flying public to obtain affordable travel options. He will continue these efforts at WRF, representing aviation clients on a variety of business, legislative and regulatory issues before the U.S. Department of Transportation, Federal Aviation Administration, Department of Homeland Security/Transportation Security Administration, Department of State and the U.S. Congress. Prior to joining private practice, Faberman served for 18 years with the Federal Aviation Administration as Acting Chief Counsel, Deputy Chief Counsel and Assistant Chief Counsel for Regulation and Enforcement. In recognition of his accomplishments at the agency-which included rebuilding the air traffic system after the air controllers’ strike-he was given a Presidential Award by President Reagan and a Superior Achievement Award by the Administrator. After leaving the FAA, Faberman spent 8 years as Assistant General Counsel and Vice President of Government Affairs for American Airlines, managing legislative and regulatory affairs for the airline and its subsidiaries.
