Before coming to Saint Joseph Hospital, Jameson "Jamie" Smith served as Chief Administrative Officer and Senior Vice President at Penrose-St. Francis Health Services in Colorado Springs, and prior to that, worked with Tenet Healthcare as a Vice President and administrator. Earlier in his career, Jamie was a Medical Platoon Leader in the Calvary Division at Fort Hood, Texas, where he led a 35-man combat medic platoon attached to a heavy infantry battalion of more than 700 soldiers. He also served as the Administrator of the Department of Pediatrics at Walter Reed Army Medical Center for nearly two years, and worked in leadership roles in financial services companies. Jamie is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives (FACHE). He earned a master’s degree in business administration in 2002 from the University of Texas at Austin, and a bachelor’s degree in economics from Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas. He completed Basic Officer Leadership from the U.S. Army Medical Department in 1994. He served as Board Chair of Community Health Partnership from 2013-2015, and is a board member of Pikes Peak Hospice and Palliative Care.
