Keith Mason

Keith Mason understands, from virtually every angle, how the affairs of corporations intersect with the worlds of the law, government and public opinion. As an attorney, he has served as a counselor to CEOs and senior executives of Fortune 500 companies. In government and politics, he has served as a key adviser to elected officials from throughout the nation at the state and federal levels. And as a business leader, he has chaired one of the country's largest public seaport authorities and been an investor in numerous real estate projects. From 2001 to 2003, Keith served as Chairman of the Board of the Georgia Port Authority, where he successfully guided that organization through major management and accountability reforms in an era of increased public scrutiny. During Keith's tenure as Chairman, the Authority achieved record volume, increased support from federal, state and local stakeholders, and international recognition as the fastest growing containerport in the country. As a businessman, Keith has served a community bank board and more recently, was an organizer of the Republic Bank of Georgia in Atlanta. He and his family are active investors in numerous real estate projects in the Southeastern US and were the first successful investors in the nationally touted "Atlanta Beltline" project. In the world of government and politics, he served as Deputy Assistant and Deputy Director for Intergovernmental Affairs at The White House, making him President Clinton's principal liaison with the nation's governors. Keith also served as Chief of Staff to the Governor of Georgia and has also assisted various governors' offices across the country on transition issues. Since joining McKenna Long & Aldridge, Keith has served as a key strategic adviser to many of the firm's clients, helping them build relationships, solve problems and create opportunities for their business success in the increasingly important public arena.
