Jose M Jimenez

Mr. Jimenez presently oversees regulatory policy and industry relations as Executive Director of Regulatory Affairs, at Cox Communications, Inc (Cox); he assumed this role in 2006. He leads the development of Cox's regulatory policy goals and strategy at the state and regional levels; and coordinates and contributes to policy goals and strategy at the national level, on matters involving wired and wireless communication services. He is also responsible for Cox's universal-service program, from policy advocacy to compliance with current regulations. Further, Mr. Jimenez manages Cox's participation in various national associations and forums which help shape communications policy, including the National Cable and Telecommunications Association, CTIA-The Wireless Association, the Rural Cellular Association, and the North American Numbering Council. Finally, Mr. Jimenez represents the cable industry as a member of the Board of Directors of the Universal Service Administrative Company. Mr. Jimenez joined Cox Communications in March 1999. Prior to joining Cox Communications, he served as the Technical Advisor on telecommunications and transportation issues to two past Presidents of the California Public Utilities Commission. Mr. Jimenez worked for the California Commission for nearly ten years. His experience also includes employment at Pacific Bell as an Installation Center Supervisor. During his professional career, Mr. Jimenez has publicly spoken before State Public Utilities Commissions on matters pending before those agencies, the National Association of Regulatory Utility Commissioners on universal service and the regulatory treatment of broadband services, the Mid-America Regulatory Conference on interconnection requirements, the New England Conference of Public Utility Commissioners on cyber-security, and the National Regulatory Conference in Virginia on general regulatory policy. He also has addressed academic bodies, such as the Universidad Simón Bolivar in La Paz, Bolivia, where he taught a Masters course on telecommunications policy, and New Mexico State University's Center for Public Utility Regulation, where he participated on a panel on competition policy. Mr. Jimenez obtained a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Southern California in 1988.
