Joe Sofer is a partner in the boutique intellectual property law firm of Sofer & Haroun, LLP. His experience includes patent trademark and copyright prosecution, litigation and corporate counseling. He received his J.D. degree Magna Cum Laude from New York Law School and his B.S. and M.S. degrees in electrical engineering from Columbia University. He is a lifetime member of Tau-Beta-Pi, engineering honor society and Eta-Kappa-Nu, electrical engineering honor society. For many years he served as a faculty member of Practicing Law Institute, lecturing on patent claim drafting techniques and strategies. Joe and his wife Tanya have been members of Central Synagogue since 2000. They have two children, Stephanie and Andrew, who were B’nei Mitzvah at Central.
