Nancy Krasne

Nancy H. Krasne was elected to the Beverly Hills City Council in 2007 and 2013. She is currently serving as vice mayor. She served as mayor in 2010. Prior to her first election as a councilmember she served on the Architectural Commission and the Planning Commission. A 37-year Beverly Hills area resident, Councilmember Krasne served as chair and vice chair of the Architectural Commission for seven years. In 2003, she was appointed to the Planning Commission. In addition, she has served as a board member of the National Council of Jewish Women, and is past board member of the Los Angeles Child Guidance Clinic. She is currently a member of Friends of Greystone, the Los Angeles County Museum of Art Costume Council and the Beverly Hills Women's Club. Vice Mayor Krasne was raised in Los Angeles, graduating from University High School and UCLA. She went on to teach elementary school for 18 years in the Los Angeles Unified School District. Councilmember Krasne and her husband, Jim, a lifelong Beverly Hills resident, have been married for more than 40 years. They have two sons, Kevin and David who attended Beverly Hills schools. Mrs. Krasne is an art collector who has been instrumental in raising funds for the purchase of public art for the City. She also enjoys cooking, traveling and spending time with her family.
