Beverly Coleman

As Assistant Vice President for Community Relations and Economic Development, Beverly Coleman develops and implements programs that strengthen Temple's relationship with the surrounding neighborhood and the city of Philadelphia. Her work enhances the university's contributions to the civic and economic success of the community. Coleman has spent more than two decades working to reinvigorate neighborhoods throughout the Philadelphia area. She formerly served as director of Urban Ventures Group and executive director of NeighborhoodsNow. She has worked for the Pew Charitable Trusts and a number of community economic development organizations. Additionally, she serves on the boards of SEPTA, Art Reach, and the Samuel Fels Foundation. Coleman attended the University of Pennsylvania where she earned both a Master of Arts degree in Government Administration and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Urban Studies.
