Soohyung Kim

Soohyung Kim, also known as Soo, has been the Chief Executive Officer, Managing Partner and Chief Investment Officer at Standard General L.P. since November 2007 and also serves as its Founding Partner. Mr. Kim previously served as a Co-President at the firm. He has also been the Chief Executive Officer, Secretary and member of Board of Directors of ALST Casino Holdco, LLC since November 1, 2011. Mr. Kim is experienced in finance, business development, mergers and acquisitions and business restructuring and integration. He has been investing in event-driven and leveraged company strategies since 1997. Mr. Kim was a Founding Partner and Director of Research at Cyrus Capital Partners, L.P. He served as a Principal at Och-Ziff Capital Management Group LLC from 1999 to 2005. Mr. Kim helped launch the firm's fixed income business. Prior thereto, he was an Analyst in the Capital Management group at Bankers Trust Company. He serves as a Director of Greenwich House and Coalition for Queens. Mr. Kim served as a Director of Media General, Inc. from November 12, 2013 to January 17, 2017. Mr. Kim is the President of Stuyvesant High School Alumni Association. He is also a Director of the Cary Institute of Ecosystem Studies. Mr. Kim previously served as a Director of New Young Broadcasting from 2011 to 2013. He was a Director of Greektown Holdings, LLC until April 10, 2013. Mr. Kim received an A.B. degree from the Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs.
