Harry Katrichis

Harry Katrichis is of counsel with Foley & Lardner's Government & Public Affairs Group, as well as the Energy and Health Care Industry Teams. He devotes his work to lobbying in the areas of agriculture, energy, financial services, health care and transportation. Prior to joining Foley, Mr. Katrichis spent over six years at the firm of Arent Fox, where he served as chairman of that firm's Public Policy Department from 2003 until his departure. Mr. Katrichis served as the chief counsel to the U.S. House of Representatives Committee on Small Business from 1995 to 2001, where he was responsible for developing and implementing the committee's agenda. In that capacity he supervised the legal and professional staff of the committee and its subcommittees. He advised committee members on a wide range of issues, including regulatory reform, antitrust and competition policy, international trade, regulated industries, economic policy, and general business issues. He also managed all phases of legislative development, including negotiations with the Senate, other House committees, and the administration. He served similar functions for the ranking Republican members of the committee from 1991-1994. Before joining the Committee on Small Business, Mr. Katrichis worked for a prestigious Baltimore law firm, practicing in the areas of antitrust, trade regulation, securities, copyright, trademark, regulated industries, and other complex commercial issues. Mr. Katrichis also served in three different positions in the Reagan administration. First, he served as a special counsel in the Office of General Counsel of the U.S. Department of Commerce, working primarily on international trade and legislative issues. He next went to the Office of Advocacy at the U.S. Small Business Administration, where he was the associate chief counsel for advocacy. There, he was involved in promoting the perspectives of small business throughout the executive branch and Congress on a number of economic, regulatory, and competition policy issues. Finally, Mr. Katrichis served as a special assistant to the attorney general and was detailed to the Antitrust Division of the U.S. Department of Justice. Prior to his service in the Reagan administration, Mr. Katrichis worked for a prestigious New York law firm, practicing in the areas of antitrust, trade regulation, intellectual property and international trade. Mr. Katrichis has a B.A. from the University of Wisconsin and a J.D. from New York Law School. He is admitted to practice in Wisconsin and the District of Columbia.
