Peter A Rohrbach

Peter Rohrbach is Co-Director of the firm's communications group and a member of the firm's Executive Committee. He is widely regarded as a leading member of the U.S. Communications Bar with nearly 30 years of experience in mergers and acquisitions, regulatory proceedings, and compliance counseling. Peter is particularly recognized for his experience in the telecommunications area, with an emphasis on the telephone industry, satellite communications, and information services. Peter has played a major role in many of the key regulatory developments in these industry segments. His clients have included major national and international operators, as well as newer companies that have grown in response to opportunities created by the Internet, liberalized competition, and related developments. Peter routinely appears before the U.S. Federal Communications Commission, state public utility commissions, and other governmental bodies. He also teams with other firm partners on complex litigation in the telecommunications industry. Peter also handles media law matters, advising both established broadcast companies and newer media enterprises. In addition, he works with video programming distributors on regulatory issues affecting their businesses and major corporations in the negotiation of complex telecommunications services agreements. In law school, Peter served as senior note editor of the Stanford Law Review. He has taught a law school seminar in communications law, speaks regularly on telecommunications policy matters, and participates in various industry organizations.
