With more than 50 years of professional experience, Ms. Hernstadt has been a partner with the Planning and Development Team since 1974. In addition to her primary role, she previously served as the president of the Hernstadt Broadcasting Corporation from 1978 to 1981, and president of KVVU-TV from 1976 to 1977, where she was also vice president from 1974 to 1975. Prior to obtaining these positions, she was a planning consultant with the Arlen Realty & Development Corporation from 1971 to 1973 and with Llewellyn-Davies Associates from 1969 to 1971. From 1968 to 1969, she was with the engineering sciences department of the Service Bureau Corporation, and from 1967 to 1968 she was a partner with Development Planning Associates. Earlier in her career, Ms. Hernstadt worked with the office of planning coordination of the state of New York. Ms. Hernstadt began her career as a student at New York University, obtaining a Bachelor of Arts in 1964 and a Master of Arts in urban and regional planning in 1966. In addition, she holds a certificate from the Harvard Business School in smaller corporate management. She is most proud of her work as president of the Hernstadt Broadcasting Company and running the radio station WKAT in Miami, FL, for which she was recognized by the mayor for bringing together community leaders to discuss problems and challenges during the Mariel Boatlift.
