Theodore Briell Smith III

Theodore B. Smith, III, also known as Ted, is the Co-Founder, Partner and Managing Director at Canrock Ventures. Mr. Smith was the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of John Hassall LLC since 2004 and had been its President since 2007. Prior to that, he served in various positions in manufacturing and sales for John Hassall LLC. Mr. Smith began his career in 1986 at Bear Sterns where he served as a member of their Institutional Equities Sales group. He has been an Independent Director at GTT Communications, Inc. since December 2007. He also serves as Director of Sentiment Alpha. Mr. Smith received Bachelor of Arts Degree from Colgate University in 1986 with Economics and Art History and completed the Stanford Executive Program, as well as the Harvard Business School Programs for Management Development. Mr. Smith, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Theodore B. Smith Jr. of Mill Neck and Point O'Woods, L.I., graduated from the Salisbury (Conn.) School and Colgate University. His father is the chairman of John Hassal Inc., a manufacturer of specialty metal parts in Westbury, L.I. The bridegroom is the grandson of Gustave E. Wiedenmayer of Boca Grande, Fla., and Dorset, Vt., and the late Margaret Morse Wiedenmayer, and of the late Mr. and Mrs. Theodore B. Smith of Mill Neck.
