John D Fennebresque

Mr. Fennebresque resigned as president of the Mobil Chemical Company and as a vice president of Mobil Oil Corporation in 1969 to become a business and financial consultant. At his death he was president of the Rolfite Company of Stamford, pollution control; a director and chairman of the executive committee of Nease Chemical Corporation of State College, Pa., and a director of several other corporations. He also represented American shareholders and was a director and member of the executive committees of three Mexican petrochemical concerns. Born in Boston on April 11, 1917, Mr. Fennebresque received an engineering degree from Yale University in 1939 and took post‐graduate work at Washington University. He began as an engineer with the Monsanto Chemical Company and served with the office of the rubber director of the War Production Board in World War II. After the war, Mr. Fennebresque joined the Celanese Corporation of America, where he rose to vice president, director and member of the executive committee. In 1955 he became executive vice president of Food Machinery and Chemical Corporation and in 1958 president and chief executive officer of Texas Butadiene and Chemical Corporation. He joined Mobil Oil in 1962. He leaves his wife, the former Frances Jane Campbell; two sons, John Clark and Kim; his father, George W. Fennebresque; two sisters, Mrs. Helen Rapport and Mrs. Shirley Bowring, and a grandchild.
