Theodore Case Whitehouse

Theodore C. Whitehouse is a partner in the Litigation Department of Willkie Farr & Gallagher LLP in Washington, D.C. Mr. Whitehouse specializes in litigation, with a particular emphasis on antitrust, pharmaceutical, intellectual property, and compliance matters. Mr. Whitehouse regularly engages in trial and appellate litigation and antitrust and compliance counseling, often for clients in the pharmaceutical and telecommunications industries.  Recent significant matters include In re Nifedipine Antitrust Litigation; several significant, non-public investigations under the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act; serving as antitrust counsel to Teva Pharmaceuticals in connection with its acquisitions of SICOR, Inc., Ivax Corporation, and Barr Pharmaceuticals; service as antitrust counsel for Eon Labs, Inc. in its acquisition by Novartis AG; and service as antitrust counsel to The Titan Corporation in its acquisition by L-3 Communications Holdings, Inc. Mr. Whitehouse serves as primary outside counsel for the Association of Directory Publishers, a trade association of publishers of classified telephone directories. Mr. Whitehouse currently supervises Willkie’s Washington, D.C. office Pro Bono Legal Assistance Program and recently served as President of the Bethesda-Chevy Chase Chapter of the Izaak Walton League of America, a nature conservation organization.  Since 1991, Mr. Whitehouse has served as Chair of the D.C. Bar Appellate Advocacy Continuing Legal Education Program.  He currently chairs a committee of the Council for Court Excellence that is addressing issues relating to reintegration into the community of persons who have been imprisoned.  He is a member of the American Bar Association and the Board of Directors of the Council for Court Excellence. Mr. Whitehouse served as a trial attorney in the Antitrust Division of the Justice Department, where he spent most of his time on the trial and settlement of United States v. AT&T, the case that led to the break-up of the Bell System in 1982. Previously he served as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable George H. Revercomb in Washington, D.C.
