Tom Fry Partner, Dietel Partners Tom Fry is a partner with Dietel Partners. Before that, he was the Managing Director of the Draper Richards Kaplan Foundation, where he was responsible for identifying and supporting the Foundation’s entrepreneurs and cultivating and engaging donors.Earlier in his career, Fry was a Partner at New Profit, a high-touch philanthropic funder, where he supported organizations in the firm’s portfolio by helping them refine their program and revenue models, add talent, develop organizational capacity and scale their impact. He was also actively involved in sourcing and selecting innovative, entrepreneur-led organizations and engaging current and prospective donors. Previously, Fry served as the Director of Operations for Grassroot Soccer, leading the operational build-out for the organization in South Africa. Before entering the non-profit arena, Fry worked for White Mountains Capital, a publicly-traded holding company that invests in buyouts and special situations in the financial service sector. Fry’s role involved evaluating investment opportunities, managing diligence efforts and working with management teams post-close to improve operations. In an earlier role, Fry consulted to Fortune 500 and private equity clients while at Mainspring, a boutique management consulting firm acquired by IBM. He also spent a number of years with the Chubb Group, a specialty insurance company. Fry currently serves on the boards of Generation Citizen, Solar Sister, Compass Working Capital, Seed Global Health, Sanergy, Measures for Justice, WAVE, Spark Microgrants, StriveTogether and Muso. Fry received his Master of Business Administration from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy and Economics from Boston College.
