Suzanne Haik Terrell

Suzanne Haik Terrell, a native of New Orleans, received her B.A. from Newcomb College of Tulane University in 1976, and her J.D. from Loyola School of Law in 1984. In 1994 she was elected to the New Orleans City Council, and in 1999 she was elected Louisiana’s Commissioner of Elections, the first Republican woman ever elected to statewide office in Louisiana. She has served as Senior Advisor and Director of Outreach for the Department of Commerce, Economic Development Administration (EDA) and as Deputy Assistant Secretary for External Affairs and Communications. She is the mother of three daughters and has been married to her husband, W. Lee Terrell III M.D. for more than thirty years.
