Hutchinson began his career with Deloitte & Touche in 1978, serving as a partner from 1989 to 2002. From 2002 until his retirement in 2012, he was the partner-in-charge of the Colorado audit and enterprise risk practice. He currently serves on the board of Westmoreland Coal Co. and One Gas Inc.
