David Pressman, a former U.S. diplomat based at the United Nations, left Boies Schiller Flexner for Jenner & Block’s New York office in June 2020. As the U.N. ambassador for special political affairs, Pressman represented the U.S. at the UN Security Council from September 2014 to January 2017. He was also the founding executive director of George and Amal Clooney’s foundation that highlights human rights abuses overseas, the Clooney Foundation for Justice. Pressman spent two years as deputy to U.S. Ambassador Samantha Power. Before his role at the world body, he served as assistant secretary of homeland security, on the National Security Council and on U.S. President Barack Obama’s Atrocity Prevention Board. During the Clinton Administration, David served as an aide to Secretary of State Madeleine K. Albright. He received his B.A. from Brown University and graduated magna cum laude and Order of the Coif from New York University School of Law. He was honored as a distinguished alumnus of New York University School of Law in 2014.
