he attended Brigham Young University culminating in a BS in Sociology and a PH.D. in Physics. After which, John worked in an array of positions around the country with his family in tow. From helping develop the first Brail Machine for the blind and working as a Senior Engineer on the first Government commissioned Space Shuttle to being Dean of the Computer Science College at Rochester Institute of Technology and holding an executive position under Utah’s Governor Calvin Rampton. Most recently John was the Founder and CEO of TEL electronics. John’s hobbies were just as varied as his career ranging from singing in a barbershop quartet, and writing poetry, to juggling and painting. No matter the position, John supported and loved his family. He will always be remembered as unique, intelligent, and a life-long learner. John is survived by his wife, Diane, and his children: Robin (Layne) Brown, Sean (Angel) Gunter, Shannon (Jodi) Gunter, John, Jr. (Brooxie) Gunter, Joshua Gunter, and 18 Grandchildren and 9 Great Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his sister, Judith Ann Huffman, and his daughter, Joni Gunter Villardell-Partridge.
