Thea has 18 years as a practitioner in financial services, market development, and digital economies, with a focus on fragile markets and politically complex environments. Previously, Thea served as Director for Financial Inclusion and Frontier Finance at Mercy Corps working across East Africa, West Africa, the Middle East, and South East Asia. She also led financial services initiatives across the Middle East and East Africa for the Development Innovations Group. Thea earned her B.A. from Guilford College, MBA from the University of Oxford, and M. Ed from Harvard University in International Policy.
