Under Armour, Inc. (NYSE: UA, UAA) today announced the appointment of Tchernavia Rocker as its new Chief People and Culture Officer. Rocker joins Under Armour from Harley-Davidson, Inc. where she spent more than 18 years in HR leadership roles, most recently as the Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer. Prior to that, she served in various HR and operations roles at Goodyear Dunlop North America Tire Inc. Tchernavia Rocker is the Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer for Harley-Davidson, Inc. In that role, Tchernavia is a member of the executive leadership team as well as the company representative and advisor to the HR Committee of the Harley-Davidson Inc. Board of Directors. She is responsible for crafting the strategic direction and leading the execution of the organization’s workforce strategy, specifically in the areas of organizational effectiveness, employee value proposition and experience, succession planning, talent management, organizational and performance management, leadership development, compensation and benefits, labor relations and global inclusion, with a team of approximately 200 human resources professionals across the globe. Since 2000, Tchernavia has served Harley-Davidson in various HR leadership roles responsible for business unit HR functions which include organizational development, change management, labor relations, employee relations, talent management, employee training, performance management, diversity, HRIS, safety, security and occupational health as well as strategic HR planning. Her previous experience also includes various HR and operations leadership roles within Goodyear Dunlop North America Tire Inc., as well as other organizations in the healthcare industry. She currently serves on the Board of Directors for Girl Scouts of Southeast Wisconsin and the Marcus Center for Performing Arts and is a member of HR Policy Institute, the Society for Human Resource Management and the National Black MBA Association. She previously served as a member of the Board of Directors for several non-profits, including Next Door and Mount Mary University. Tchernavia is a graduate of the University of Alabama Huntsville in Huntsville, AL, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing. She earned her Master of Business Administration from Alabama A&M University. She currently holds both HRCI Senior Professional in Human Resources and SHRM-Senior Certified Professional certifications.
