Hoon Kim

Hoon is the Head of Equity Portfolio Management and Senior Researcher in the Global Stock Selection team. He is responsible for day-to-day portfolio management decisions for equity hedge fund strategies and long-only equity strategies. Hoon has contributed to the advancement in various areas of investment strategies and processes, including alpha signal research, portfolio construction, performance attribution and portfolio analytics. Prior to joining AQR in 2005, Hoon worked for Mellon Capital Management in San Francisco where he was the Head of Quantitative Equity Research. Hoon earned his B.A. in Business Administration from Yonsei University in South Korea. He earned MBA and Ph.D. in Business/Accounting from Carnegie Mellon University. He is a CPA (in Korea) and a CFA charterholder. Hoon is a founding member and served as the first president of Korea Finance Society (KFS) whose mission is to promote the global influence of Koreans in finance through networking, education and mentoring.
