Warren Bogle is president and vineyard director of Bogle Vineyards, a sixth-generation family-farming operation in Clarksburg that produces award-winning wine that is sold nationwide. Bogle was in college in 1997 when his father passed away unexpectedly; he left Chico State to return to work in the family operation with his mother, Patty. During that period, the winery won the respect of esteemed wine critics and grew its production substan- tially, becoming one of the largest wineries in the country. Today, Bogle and two of his siblings run the company’s day-to-day operations. Warren is named for his grandfather, Warren V. Bogle, who was the first in the family to plant wine grapes, in 1968. The Bogle wine label was born in 1979. During the prior decade, the family sold its fruit to other wineries.
