Fred Teichert

Sacramento native Fred Teichert is the great-grandson of Adolph Teichert Sr., the German immigrant who founded the construction company A. Teichert & Son, Inc., in 1887. Fred Teichert started working at the company in 1977, but in 1991, he found his true calling as a corporate philanthropist. He is the executive director of the Teichert Foundation, which contributes $400,000 a year to California communities, regardless of how the company performed. Teichert is the founding chair of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Sacramento and the Sacramento Community Regional Foundation, as well as a member of the Mayor’s Task Force on Homelessness.
