Michael Chiklis

Michael Chiklis is an actor, director and television producer, best known for his work on The Shield, The Commish and Fantastic Four. In 2014, he joined the cast of American Horror Story for its fourth season, and he currently appears in the hit television show Gotham. In September 2016, Michael also released his first solo album, Influence, featuring nine original songs, one cover and an ancient Irish lullaby. Chiklis graduated with a BFA from Boston University College of Fine Arts in 1985, and his career began when he took on the role of John Belushi in the controversial biopic, Wired. He has guest-starred in several popular television series such as Miami Vice, Stryker, Wiseguy, L.A. Law, Murphy Brown and Seinfeld. His role as Commissioner Tony Scali in ABC’s police/comedy drama The Commish from 1991-1996 made him a household name. In 2000, Chiklis auditioned and won the leading role of The Shield’s anti-hero, LAPD Detective Vic Mackey, which is one of his most lauded credits. In 2002, he won an Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series for the role, as well as a Golden Globe for Best Performance by an Actor in a Television Series-Drama. Chiklis is married to Michelle Chiklis. Together they have two daughters — Autumn, a 2016 School of Dramatic Arts alumna, and Odessa. Chiklis serves on the Dean’s Advisory Board of the College of Fine Arts at Boston University. He is also a Boston University Young Alumni Award winner and a BU College of Fine Arts Distinguished Alumni Award winner.
