An interior designer, the Countess married the 4th Earl of Iveagh – Edward Guinness of the aristocratic Guinness family – in October 2001. The pair have a son and live at Elveden Hall, a Grade II* listed stately home in Suffolk. The news outlet reports that the Countess was listed as Clare Hazell-Iveagh in Epstein’s notorious ‘Little Black Book’ of contacts. The Mail on Sunday previously alleged that she travelled on Epstein’s Boeing 727 32 times between 1998 and 2000, including trips to his homes in New York, Florida, the Caribbean and New Mexico. Now a university contemporary of the Countess has reportedly told The Daily Beast that Epstein paid for Hazell to attend Ohio State University in 1995, and that she described him as her benefactor. The former friend, who asked to remain anonymous, alleged that Hazell took him with her on a trip to Epstein’s portion of retail mogul Leslie Wexner’s New Albany estate, ‘the rotunda.’ The news outlet adds that it remains unclear how the Countess was introduced to Epstein and Maxwell, but the anonymous source noted the high society scene that the young British woman operated in. The friend said he had been unsure why the British Hazell, who wanted to be an interior designer, had chosen to attend the public university in Ohio.
