Marjo Curgus is the principal and sole proprietor of Del Corazón Consulting. She holds a Master’s in Community and Regional Planning and Master’s Certificate in Program Monitoring & Evaluation. Prior to launching Del Corazón Consulting, she spent 3 years as Associate Director of Programs at the Orton Family Foundation working on the 5-year $10 million Heart & Soul initiative. While her project portfolio is diverse, it has maintained three consistent themes: empowering communities to identify collaborative solutions to challenging problems; building effective leadership; creating new and innovative methods and tools. Within the field of water, Marjo has facilitated New Mexico’s regional and state water plans, drafted sub-catchment watershed strategies, and facilitated the foundation of watershed collaboratives. As a planner she designed and facilitated the Growing Water Smart workshop for the Sonoran Institute, is leading the Colorado River headwater communities Water Saving Model Standards project assessing comprehensive plans and development codes for water conservation and supporting a USAID project in Nepal to develop Integrated Water Resource Management across Western Nepal.
