She did her BSc (2002) and PhD (2008) at the University of Toronto, and a post-doctoral position at Duke University. She then took up a faculty position at the University of Western Ontario in Canada in 2012 and moved to the ANU in 2022. Dani and her lab members have published 88 peer-reviewed papers and she has been recognized as a Highly Cited Researcher annually since 2020. She has also won numerous awards for her work on plant responses to climate change, including election to the College of the Royal Society of Canada (2018), the C.D.
