Elizabeth Piersol Petway

Philanthropist and volunteer Elizabeth "Betty" Piersol Petway, wife of local businessman and Jacksonville Jaguars co-founder Tom Petway, died Monday January 27 2025 after a battle with cancer at 83. The couple graduated from Florida State University, where Mrs. Petway was a member of the FSU High Flying Circus trapeze group. The Petways were married 62 years and had three children, Ty (Thomas Petway IV), Brette and Amanda, and eight grandchildren. Their youngest daughter, known as Mandi, died in 1992 after a battle with Hodgkin's disease.
