Manfred Kerschbaum was appointed senior vice president of Applied Materials, Inc. in December 2004. Currently he is head of Applied Global Services (AGS), the company’s service business. Prior to this position, he led Global Operations. Since joining the Company in 1983, Mr. Kerschbaum has held a variety of positions, including general manager of Applied Materials North America, vice president and general manager of the global Texas Instruments Account, director of Etch Business Operations and director of Customer Service in Europe. Prior to joining Applied Materials, Mr. Kerschbaum served in Process Development and Pilot Production at Siemens Semiconductor. Mr. Kerschbaum received his degree in physics from the University of Applied Sciences in Munich.
