In April, Michael Wong ’96 was elected the 2011 president of the ND Alumni Board of Directors. On July 1, he began his one-year term as president-elect, and he joined the University’s Board of Trustees. A respected corporate strategist, Wong has a proven track record of leading large corporate clients through times of change. As a principal at IBB Consulting Group, he has advised on and led numerous strategic and operational change initiatives in the communications sector. Operational improvement, business transformation outsourcing, mergers and acquisition support, cost optimization, marketing/pricing strategy, corporate communication, and organization reengineering are some of his primary areas of expertise. Corporate officers and executives at clients such as AT&T Consumer Service, AT&T Business Services, BellSouth, Cable and Wireless Communications, Comcast Communications, Time Warner Cable, Equant, Qwest Communications, MCI, Sprint, and Verizon have achieved key strategic goals with the benefit of his expertise. The youngest of three, Wong comes from a family of Domers: Cdr Ronald Wong ’53 (retired), Justin Wong ’59, Gregory Wong ’91, and Diane Wong ’93. It is worth noting that his father, Cdr Ronald Wong, founded the Notre Dame Club of Ventura County in 1978.
