Brigham Young University--Idaho. Dr. Clark joined the faculty of Harvard Business School in 1978 and was named Dean of Faculty and George F. Baker Professor of Administration in 1995. He was named president of Brigham Young University--Idaho in 2005. His research is focused on modularity in design and the integration of technology and competition in industry evolution, with a particular focus on the computer industry. He and Carliss Baldwin are co-authors of Design Rules: The Power of Modularity (MIT Press, 2000). Dr. Clark, who is 58, was first elected a director of Black & Decker in 2003. He also serves as a director of JetBlue Airways Corporation and Beneficial Financial Group.
