Lynn Westfall currently serves as EIA's director of energy markets and financial analysis. He oversees the analysis of macroeconomic trends as well as important dynamics in both the financial and physical petroleum commodities markets. Mr. Westfall is a retired senior vice president and chief economist of Tesoro Corporation and was formerly the vice chairman of the Western States Petroleum Association. In his 37-year career in the refining industry, he has had operational assignments in refining processing, crude purchasing, wholesale and retail marketing, and refinery asset acquisitions. He is considered an expert in refining economics with extensive experience in mergers and acquisitions, economic and strategic analysis, government relations, and media relations. Mr. Westfall has an M.B.A. from the University of Houston and a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Texas.
