Alex W Hart

Alex W. Hart (Pete) has been the Chairman of Silicon Valley Bancshares since April 17, 2003 and serves as Chairman of Silicon Valley Bank. Mr. Hart has been Chairman of the Board of Directors at e-PROFILE Inc., since its incorporation in 1999. Mr. Hart serves as a Member of Advisory Board of ECOM Financial Corp. since July 2005. He has been a Director of Global Payments Inc., since February 2001 and Actrade Financial Technologies Ltd., since June 2001. He is also a Director of Advanta Partners, L.P. Mr. Hart has been an Independent Consultant in consumer services, specializing in payment services and consumer finance with a focus on emerging technologies, since November 1997. Mr. Hart served as the Chief Executive Officer at Advanta Corporation, from August 1995 to November 1997 and as the Executive Vice Chairman, from March 1994 to August 1996. He has acted as a pioneer in the global payments industry, holding such prominent roles as President and Chief Executive Officer at MasterCard International, Inc., from November 1988 to March 1994. Mr. Hart has completed studies at the Graduate School of Bank Marketing at the University of Colorado and the Graduate Program for Data Processing Management at Harvard Business School. He received a B.A. in Psychology and Social Relations from Harvard University in 1962.
