In 1962, he began to develop real estate for his own account. Initially, he became involved in the development of service stations and fast food locations. He built and leased facilities to tenants such as McDonald's, Burger King, Texaco, Exxon, Mobil, Chemical Bank and Home Federal Savings and Loan, etc. Simultaneously, therewith, he was involved with the assemblage and development of Harway Terrace, two 19-story, 360 unit apartment buildings in Brooklyn, New York, developed under the Mitchell Lama Program.
