Before founding Mistral, McLane served as an Associate Portfolio Manager and Analyst at The Hartford Investment Management Company (HIMCO). While at HIMCO, McLane was the lead analyst for Healthcare, Energy and Financial sector research; assisted in all phases of HIMCO’s mutual fund startup and assisted in managing four Small and Mid-Cap equity portfolios. Prior to joining HIMCO, McLane served in a variety of positions while on the equity sell side. He was a partner at Think Equity Partners, LLC. where he was head of institutional sales and served on the firm’s operating committee. Prior to ThinkEquity, McLane was a Managing Director in Institutional Research sales at Citigroup Global Markets and Kidder, Peabody. McLane also served as a chair of Citigroup's Equity Research Steering Committee which was responsible for recommending changes to the firm's research process. McLane has been an active and successful investor for over 20 years. McLane earned a Bachelor of Science in Finance and Investments from Babson College.
