Carolyn Swartz Bucksbaum

A 1951 Grinnell graduate with a B.A. in English and journalism, Ms. Bucksbaum was a founding member of Friends of Educational Broadcasting in Iowa and Chair of the Iowa Center for the Book. Prominently engaged in cultural and civic affairs, including service on the boards of the Des Moines Symphony, Iowa Natural Heritage Foundation, League of Women Voters, and other entities, Ms. Bucksbaum is Vice President of the National Public Radio Foundation and also a former board member of The Des Moines Register. Ms. Bucksbaum's membership on the Grinnell Board of Trustees has included service as Chair. She pursues interests in the outdoors and resides part time in Aspen, Colorado.
