Stephen J Ryan

Stephen J. Ryan, M.D. has served as President of the Doheny Eye Institute since 1987 and as the Grace and Emery Beardsley Professor of Ophthalmology at the Keck School of Medicine of the University of Southern California since 1974. Dr. Ryan was Dean of the Keck School of Medicine and Senior Vice President for Medical Care of the University of Southern California from 1991 through June 2004. Dr. Ryan is a Member of the Institute of Medicine of the National Academy of Sciences and is a member and past president of numerous ophthalmologic organizations such as the Association of University Professors of Ophthalmology and the Macula Society. Dr. Ryan is the founding President of the Alliance for Eye and Vision Research. Dr. Ryan was appointed to our board in September 2002, is Chairman of the Science & Technology Committee and is a member of the Audit and Finance Committee.
