Has led Canadian Natural Resources to become a leader in Alberta's oil sands mining, with Horizon project on track to grow to 500,000 barrels per day in a decade. Reportedly thinks total oil sands production can grow from 1.5 million bpd to 4 million bpd in 25 years. Sees most of that heading south, doubts approvals to export oil sands crude from Canada's west coast will come any time soon. More than just an oil tycoon, Edwards owns skiing resorts and is a co-owner of the Calgary Flames hockey team, currently serving on National Hockey League executive committee.
