Brian has been in the insurance and benefits industry since 1996. He excels in the development of long-term strategies, resulting in administrative efficiencies and the most cost-effective benefit alternatives. Brian’s intuitiveness led to the implementation of a health management initiative that helps to control risks, improve health and control health care costs. As a partner and owner, Brian manages the strategic planning of Lawley Benefits Group. He specializes in benefit compliance, health care reform, Flexible Spending Accounts, Health Reimbursement Arrangements, Health Savings Accounts, COBRA and Form 5500. Brian possesses expertise in health care reform and its potential impact on employer health plans. He has led numerous seminars on the health care reform provisions, health insurance exchanges and employer penalties. Brian’s deep involvement and knowledge resulted in the appointment to the Regional Advisory Committee, representing Western New York. This committee provides advice and makes recommendations on the planning and operation of the New York State Health Insurance Exchange. Brian’s benefits industry expertise has led to years of speaking engagements and appearances at tradeshows, radio and cable access television shows as well as numerous interviews with print publications. Brian shares his expertise in the areas of industry trends, consumer-driven plans, wellness and health management, Flexible Spending Accounts, Health Reimbursement Arrangements and Health Savings Accounts. As an active member of national benefit associations, Brian understands the latest industry trends to bring a high level of consultative services and cost-control initiatives to his clients. Brian received his Bachelor of Science degree in marketing from Canisius College and holds a New York State Life, Accident and Health license. Brian is the treasurer and board of director for the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Erie County and serves as a board of director for Leadership Buffalo. He also serves on the Business Advisory Council and QuadGear Advisory Board for Canisius College. In 2011, Brian was selected for the 20th annual Business First 40 Under Forty class, recognizing Western New York’s young leaders.
