Michael Strauss

Owns Strauss Group, Israel's second-largest food and beverage company, which produces and exports hummus, dairy products, coffee and water purifiers. Group was started in northern Israel by parents, who immigrated to Israel from Germany in 1936. Michael helped turn the family company into international conglomerate but keeps parents' home in Nahariya as a showcase and reminder of Strauss' beginnings. Daughter, Ofra, now leads the company. Michael is strong supporter of city of Akko, which he is personally vested in making an economic, social and tourist stronghold for the country.
