Daniel J. Starks was named Chairman, President & Chief Executive Officer of St. Jude Medical, Inc. in May 2004. He has served as a member of the St. Jude Medical Board of Directors since May 1996. Mr. Starks was President & Chief Operating Officer of the company from January 2001 to May 2004. Mr. Starks was President & Chief Executive Officer of the Cardiac Rhythm Management business beginning in April 1998. He previously was the Chief Executive Officer & President of Daig Corporation after it became a wholly-owned subsidiary of St. Jude Medical, Inc. Prior to the merger of Daig Corporation with St. Jude Medical, Inc., Mr. Starks was President, Secretary & a Director of Daig. Mr. Starks is on the Board of Directors of Urologix, a urology medical device company.
