Ms. York is currently a Class C Director. Chairman of The DeBartolo Corporation, owner of the San Francisco 49ers. Ms. York was Chairman of The Edward J. DeBartolo Corporation from 1994 to 2001, also serving in other executive capacities. A director of the company or its predecessor since 1996. San Francisco 49ers owner Denise DeBartolo York scored a big victory in 2010 when the city of Santa Clara voted to approve construction of a new 68,500-seat football stadium. Plans call for construction to begin in 2012 and for the 49ers to move the 40 miles from their current hometown before the 2015 season. Daughter of real estate magnate Edward DeBartolo Sr., York is the former co-chair of the family's private holding group, The DeBartolo Corp. She took control of the 49ers franchise in 2000 after her brother, Edward Jr., was convicted on federal bribery charges. Her son Jed, 31, is the 49ers president and CEO.
